The Might of White

I agree with Anthropologie’s most recent email about white:

“Fresher than ever when worn together.”

White Dress Anthropolgie

I love this dress and the shoes, oh the shoes!

Spring/Summer isn’t all about pastels and 70s brights, white is also where it’s at.

I bought more clothes.

I’ve been really trying to spend less time on sites like Gilt and Rue La La. I can’t tell you the last time I looked at my Shop It To Me emails. But there are still times when something will catch my eye or a deal is just too good to pass up.

This happened last night.

Rue La La Styleathon Header

Having a smartphone is dangerous. I swear making purchases on it doesn’t even feel real. Yet thanks to the Rue La La Sunday Night Styleathon, these pretties are headed my way by next week:

Ben Sherman White Knit Dress

Lovely Ben Sherman knit dress picked up for $22! While it's sometimes more of a push to get me to wear color, I've really taken a liking to white. Plus I have TONS of black tights. So mod!

Ben Sherman Knit Dress White

I like that it doesn't look skintight in the back.

Miss Sixty Green Trench

I think all this rain has convinced me I need a trench. I love the military green color, so I can wear it with multiple colors.

Miss Sixty Green Trench with Hood

I think it's the hood and the pleats in the back that really sold me though.

Spring has Sprung

All weekend it’s been raining, pouring (and the old man was definitely snoring, sorry Dan). While this means I didn’t spend much time relaxing on the porch with a cold shandy, gardening or participating in the requisite Easter egg hunts-it did mean that I had plenty of time for shopping and sartorial inspiration.

My local Anthropologie recently moved to a different, and decidedly more hectic location so I don’t find myself spending a leisurely Saturday afternoon there as often. I’m also not as fond of the space itself. You can’t walk in the door and take in the immense loveliness of it all as easily, and the windows aren’t as beautifully styled.

Even though it was gray and stormy outside, there was plenty of bright color to be had at Athro and my other mall favorite, J.Crew:

Anthropologie Paper Flower

Beautiful bloom at Anthropologie. I love the detail that goes into their sets.

Lengthening Rays Skirt-Anthropologie

I'm not really a huge fan of long skirts, but this bright pink beauty had me wondering.

Here it is in all it’s glory: Lengthening Rays Skirt

San Pedro Pencil Skirt-Anthropologie

I love love love this pencil skirt (and the giant flowers behind it). The picture doesn't do it justice, it's actually a very vibrant turquoise that is everywhere this spring. I tried on a mustard yellow version, but like so many of Anthro's skirts and dresses the lining seemed to be 2x smaller than the skirt. What's up with that?

Girls' Flower Snap Clip-J.Crew

Fluffy, light and airy-these flower pins really jumped out at me. I'm also usually not a pink person, but i was so drawn to pink all day.

I like clothes.

Most of all, I like personal style. Here, there and everywhere. Let the trotting begin!
